Gil made time to come by last week to change what I thought was the solenoid on my 115hp Evinrude that was having a hard time cranking over. After troubleshooting, he figured it was instead the starter that was the source of inconsistency in firing up the outboard. Luckily I had a spare starter which he swapped in the spot. The outboard also had a hard time with stalling during low idle, which we decided to have the carbs removed for him to take it back and clean with his ultra sonic machine. He also noticed and showed me all the fuel lines were cracking-yikes! I didn’t even see these when I took off the cowling to see what was going on. A few days later, he came back to reinstall the carbs, swapped in new fuel lines with new clamps, and now I feel completely confident this outboard is safe for me to take the family out this season! All this done on my driveway without needing to tow the boat somewhere-Worth every penny! Thanks Gil!
